How to claim ₹500/day compensation if bank delays card closure?

Under RBI rules, failure to close a credit card within seven working days attracts a ₹500-per-day penalty, payable to the cardholder until closure, provided there are no outstanding dues. If the card remains open after seven working days, write to the bank’s Principal Nodal Officer, citing your complaint or ticket number and the relevant clause of the RBI Master Direction.
