The US deployed EA-18G Growler electronic-warfare jets during its large-scale raid to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Instead of dropping bombs, the jets targeted signals such as radar, radio links and military communications, effectively blinding air defences. The move reportedly played a key role in overwhelming Venezuela’s air-defence systems.
