Expected to form over Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday evening, Cyclone Asani is the year's first cyclone and the first to form in the month of March. Named by Sri Lanka, it means 'wrath' in Sinhala, one of their official languages. As per a list by IMD in 2020, it was Sri Lanka's turn to pick a name.
