RBI on Friday reduced the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25%. The move is expected to reduce interest rates and EMIs for home loan borrowers. Banks will pass the rate cut benefit to those who have existing loans under the repo rate-linked floating interest rate system. New borrowers will also be able to secure loans at lower interest.
