How will RBI's new rule shield people from small delays in credit card repayments?

RBI has now directed banks and card issuers to report an account as 'past due' only if a credit card debt hasn't been repaid three days after the repayment deadline. This will shield cardholders from credit score downgrades even for minor repayment delays. However, the rules note that 'days past due' will be calculated from the repayment deadline only.
