As 20 rebel TMC MPs announced their decision to merge with less-known Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI). With the support of the NCPI, the BJP-led NDA will benefit in the numbers game as it eyes pushing bills like Women's Reservation Bill. NDA is expected to push Constitutional amendment bills that would require support from a two-thirds majority.
