How women’s right to wear trousers became a fight for equality

In many countries, it was illegal for women to wear trousers, as it was believed they were "masquerading as men". However, during World War I, women started working in factories and wore their husbands' trousers for practicality. While the laws still had not caught up, many women weaponised their financial independence to fight for their social rights, including wearing pants.
