Playboy founder Hugh Hefner had leased the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles from Playboy Enterprises and paid $100 a year as rent. The mansion was sold for $100 million to his neighbour Daren Metropoulos in 2016. Hefner, who purchased the mansion in 1971 for a reported $1.1 million, was born on April 9, 1926.
