Human activities' sounds affecting marine animals' communication: Study

A study in which a University of Victoria ecologist participated said that human activities are changing sounds within the ocean and are affecting marine animals' ability to communicate. Many fish and marine animals use sound to communicate with each other. However, increased noise from shipping traffic and other human activities are making it harder for fish to hear each other.
