Humans are responsible, not AI: US Treasury Secretary on rogue AI

Speaking on US President Donald Trump's opposition to a crackdown on the AI industry, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, "It is humans who are responsible, not the AI." Referring to the Hugging Face hack, he said, "That is the responsibility of OpenAI management, not a bunch of agents." He added that firms cannot expect a "liability shield" from the government.
