Humans cared for wolves long before dogs emerged: Study

A new study suggests that humans cared for wolves thousands of years before dogs fully emerged. Wolf remains found on a remote Swedish island, dating back 3,000-5,000 years, indicate the animals were brought by people and lived closely with them. "Injuries and DNA evidence hint at human care and early experiments with wolf domestication," an author of the study said.
