Early trends showed expelled TMC leader Humayun Kabir, who planned to build Babri Masjid in West Bengal, leading in both the Assembly seats. Humayun, who formed his own party AJUP, is leading by 20,053 votes in Rejinagar and by 9,349 votes in Nowda. BJP's Bapan Ghosh is trailing him in Rejinagar, while BJP's Rana Mandal is trailing Humayun in Nowda.
