Hungarian lawmakers on Tuesday passed a law that bans same-sex couples from adopting children. The law put forward by PM Viktor Orbán's right-wing government allows only married couples to adopt children, with some exceptions for single people. Same-sex marriage is illegal in Hungary, but adoption had been possible until now if one partner applied as a single person.
