A Mumbai court has enhanced the compensation granted to a 41-year-old woman from ₹5 lakh to ₹1 crore in a domestic violence case, stating her husband was "rolling in money". It observed that the woman's husband and his family are "crorepatis". The court ruled that the initial compensation was meagre considering that she endured torture and humiliation for 20 years.
