A Hyderabad-based IT professional was caught up in WhatsApp trading scam, costing him nearly ₹1.5 crore. A self-proclaimed trading adviser, who called himself 'Uttekar', contacted the techie and added him to a WhatsApp group 'Wealth103Tradebulls Securities'. The techie initially made small investments, gradually increasing the amount after he was promised IPO allotments and high returns.
