Edward Snowden, who accused US NSA of spying on people, has called Telegram CEO Pavel Durov's arrest "an assault on the basic human rights of speech". Snowden said, "I'm surprised...(French President Emmanuel) Macron has descended to the level of taking hostages as a means for gaining access to private communications." Durov was arrested over alleged lack of moderation on Telegram.
