On the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, US President Donald Trump met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He recalled meeting him early during the 2016 campaign, when he was told the Egyptian president was at a hotel. Trump said it was a big moment and added that they met and "fell in love, deeply in love".
