I never look at the body first: Death investigator Butcher

Former NYC death investigator Barbara Butcher said on the podcast that she doesn't look at the body first at a death scene. "I stand at the doorway...and take in the totality of the scene," she said. "I want to see...what kind of life, what kind of home," she added. She examines the body only after photographing the room.
