Speaking at the India Today Conclave East 2018, Abhishek Bachchan revealed he proposed to Aishwarya Rai after they did the 2006 film 'Umrao Jaan' together. "[We first worked together] in my initial films...We always had a close friendship, in time, it evolved into something more than that," he added. Abhishek further said things took a serious turn during 'Umrao Jaan'.
