India's C295 programme is set to transform the Indian Air Force's transport capabilities by replacing its ageing Avro fleet. Under a ₹21,935 crore Airbus deal, 56 aircraft will be inducted, including 40 built in Vadodara. Capable of carrying troops, cargo, and medical supplies, the versatile aircraft can operate from short and unprepared runways in challenging terrains.
