The Indian Air Force will induct next-generation ISTAR aircraft based on the Bombardier Global 6500 under DRDO’s ₹10,000 crore program. Three aircraft will be equipped with indigenously developed surveillance, radar and intelligence systems. Operating from stand-off ranges, they will detect, track and identify enemy troops, vehicles and air-defence assets.
