IAS officer faces ₹1.63 crore fine over unauthorised stay at Delhi bungalow

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute has issued notices to IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal seeking ₹1.63 crore in damages over alleged unauthorised occupation of a government bungalow on its Delhi campus between 2022 and 2025. Nagpal, currently Lakhimpur Kheri DM, said she had requested extensions to stay in the bungalow due to her parents' ill health and paid the rent.
