Senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi took voluntary retirement with eight years remaining service over alleged differences with Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao amid a row over liquor hologram tenders. Rao wrote a letter to Chief Secretary accusing Rizvi of deliberately stalling the tender process and allowing the old vendor, whose contract expired in 2019, to continue supplying holograms.
