Ice Age sabre-tooth cats & dire wolves had diseased joints: Study

Researchers have discovered that Ice Age sabre-tooth cats and dire wolves, much like modern-day pet cats and dogs, suffered from joint diseases. Osteochondrosis, a bone disease that affects joints in humans and domesticated animals, was identified in the fossilised arm and leg bones of these ancient species. The affected fossils date back between 55,000 and 12,000 years ago.
