ICICI Bank to buy 10% stake in JV between Indian Oil, Chennai Petroleum

ICICI Bank is set to buy a 10% stake in the proposed oil refining joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL). The proposed joint venture plans to establish a petroleum refinery in Tamil Nadu's Nagapattinam, according to bank's exchange filing. IOCL and CPCL will hold a stake of 25% each in the refinery.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heat wave warning for several states/UTs for the next two days. Heat wave is very likely in Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat on Saturday and Sunday. While, it is very likely in Punjab on Saturday, as per the latest IMD bulletin.

China retaliates with extra 34% tariff on US goods

China's finance ministry on Friday said it will impose additional tariffs of 34% on all US goods from April 10. This comes as a countermeasure to the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. US revises India tariff back to 26% from 27%

US has revised the reciprocal tariff on Indian imports back to 26% from 27%, according to a White House document. India's tariff rate was on Friday revised to 26% in the latest White House annex listing future reciprocal tariff rates. In the annex document, India's rate was on Thursday listed at 27%, rather than the 26% shown previously by Trump.

Nifty was down over 300 points and was trading below the 23,000 level. Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma crashed over 1% each, as investors trimmed their holdings.
