KV Kamath on Monday was appointed as the first president of the BRICS Bank, headquartered at Shanghai (China), with Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa as its founding members. The IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and chairman of Infosys and ICICI also headed the Asian Development Bank for 8 years before he took charge of ICICI in 1996.
