The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved an India-made testing kit for detecting the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The kit, named 'OmiSure', is manufactured by Tata Medical and Diagnostics. The kit currently in use to detect Omicron COVID-19 variant in India has been developed by the US-based company Thermo Fisher.
