Britain's iconic Sycamore Gap tree, a landmark whose dramatic silhouette featured in several movies and TV shows and was photographed by tourists, was cut down overnight in a "deliberate act of vandalism". Police arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with the felling. It was also known as 'Robin Hood Tree' after featuring in the film 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'.
