International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol on Friday commended India for its climate change plan. He appreciated the Indian government for holding energy as "one of the key priorities for economic growth". India on Thursday pledged to reduce its carbon emission intensity by 33% and boost the share of non-fossil fuels in power generation to 40% by 2030.
