Air Deccan's Founder Captain GR Gopinath told Moneycontrol, "I don't believe in rebirth but if there was one, I would not have sold the airline to Vijay Mallya." He added, "It was very good returns for the investors for my airline...but Mallya destroyed the airline after the merger." Gopinath sold most of his stake in the company by 2009.
