Islamic State's success was "improbable" if Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had remained in power, according to Saddam's interrogator and former CIA agent John Nixon. Saddam was well aware of risks posed by jihadist movements and would have suppressed them, Nixon added. These revelations are a part of Nixon's book titled, "Debriefing the President: The Interrogation of Saddam Hussein".
