IISc study flags ₹1,385 crore Hebbal tunnel as temporary fix

An IISc study has flagged Bengaluru's ₹1,385 crore Hebbal tunnel as a temporary traffic fix, with benefits expected to fade by 2031. The report says the tunnel will cost ₹5.23 per passenger, nearly six times an underground Metro's ₹0.86, while new choke points and severe congestion could emerge by 2041 near Veterinary College and Esteem Mall.
