IIT Bombay allows bags in exam, refuses to frisk students

IIT Bombay introduced interim examination rules for October 10 and 11, 2026, after suspending its stricter July policy. The new procedure removes routine frisking, allows students suspected of cheating to finish papers using fresh answer booklets and requires incidents to be documented. Counsellors will be alerted when misconduct or distress is suspected.
