Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati have developed energy-efficient bricks using Phase Change Materials embedded in AAC blocks. These “cool bricks” can lower indoor temperatures by 2–3°C and cut cooling energy use by up to 20%, offering a practical, climate-friendly solution for buildings in a warming India.
