A special CBI court in Lucknow convicted Rahul Verma, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Lucknow, in the 2008 murder case of 30-year-old Mumbai-based fashion designer Adesh Bajpai. The chargesheet said they had met through an online portal meant for same-sex partners. Adesh had visited Kanpur on August 10, 2008, to meet Verma, following which the former went missing.
