A third-year PhD student of IIT-Kanpur allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room on Wednesday. While the reason behind his suicide is not clear yet, a note that was torn into pieces has been recovered from his room. The student's parents have been informed and the post-mortem will be done after their arrival.
