After reports emerged about a man being shot in the leg by a federal agent in Minneapolis, US Homeland Security said that the incident occurred when officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop of an "illegal alien" from Venezuela. "The subject struck the officer with a shovel" while evading arrest, prompting the official to shoot in self-defence, the department said.
