Illegal coracle rides resume near Sanapura, locals demand action

Illegal coracle rides have resumed on the Tungabhadra river near Sanapura despite an earlier ban, raising safety concerns among locals. Villagers allege that operators are operating the rides openly and charging tourists up to ₹1,000. Officials say repeated notices have been ignored and that the revenue, forest, irrigation and taluk panchayat departments will soon conduct a joint drive.
