An open-cast mine in West Bengal's Asansol area has collapsed due to an "illegal mining" operation, according to reports. Several workers are feared to be trapped, the reports said. Rescue teams are using JCB machines to clear the rubble and search for survivors. Some reports claimed that the mine belonged to Bharat Coking Coal Ltd.
