Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama praised India for its freedom and said for over sixty years he has enjoyed India's freedom despite being a refugee. When asked about Tibet's freedom, he said they had decided not to seek independence from China in 1974. While we remain within China, we should have certain rights for Tibetan culture's preservation, he added.
