The IMD has issued a weather alert for Karnataka, warning of heavy pre-monsoon rains and strong winds in coastal districts. A low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal may bring intense rainfall to Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and nearby regions. Officials also indicated that conditions are favourable for an early onset of the southwest monsoon along the coastal belt.
