An imposter allegedly used AI to impersonate US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and tried to contact at least three foreign ministers, a US senator, and a governor. The imposter reportedly sent AI-generated voice and text messages mimicking Rubio’s voice and writing style on the Signal app through an account created using a fake email address, 'marco.rubio@state.gov'.
