In a first, Japan Airlines places order for 21 Boeing 737 MAX jets

For the first time ever, Japan Airlines (JAL) placed an order for the Boeing 737 MAX as a part of its plan to buy 21 jets to replenish its narrowbody fleet. JAL President Yuji Akasaka said the company intended to bring the new planes into its fleet from 2026. "I believe this is a very high-potential aircraft," Akasaka said.
