In a tit-for-tat move, Iranian Foreign Ministry has designated the Royal Canadian Navy a "terrorist organisation". The ministry called it retaliatory move against Canada's decision to blacklist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2024. Canada had accused IRGC, ideological arm of Iran's military, of "having consistently displayed disregard for human rights both inside and outside of Iran".
