Legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh, who passed away aged 91 on Friday, was born in Govindpura in present-day Pakistan. He was the first Indian track and field athlete to win gold medal in the then British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958. He also won four Asian gold medals and represented India in three Olympics.
