Roger Federer won his first Wimbledon title, his first of the 19 Grand Slam titles, as a 21-year-old in 2003. Federer is the only men's tennis player in history to win five consecutive Wimbledon titles. On July 16, Federer became the oldest male player to win Wimbledon singles in Open Era and also surpassed Pete Sampras for most Wimbledon titles.
