Participants from all over the world took part in the 24th Wife Carrying World Championship held in Finland's Sonkajarvi on Saturday. Men have to carry a female teammate, though not necessarily their wife, through a 250-metre obstacle course, and the team which finishes first wins. The championship is said to have been inspired by 'woman-stealing' or 'wife-stealing' in the 1800s.
