Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel called electoral bonds the "biggest scam of the year". Defending the scheme, Minister of State SP Singh Baghel said Opposition is criticising BJP for receiving ₹20,000 crore funds under electoral bond scheme. "TMC...received ₹1,600 crore under the same scheme while Congress received ₹1,400 crore," he added. The scheme was used to extort companies, Congress alleged.
