Independent India's 1st woman IAS officer Anna Rajam passes away

India's first woman IAS officer post-Independence, Padma Bhushan Anna Rajam Malhotra passed away at the age of 91 at her residence in Mumbai's Andheri on Monday. Born in Kerala's Ernakulam, Malhotra joined the civil services in 1951 and opted for the Madras cadre. During her lifetime, she worked under seven chief ministers of Tamil Nadu.
