India, France to jointly map Earth's water resources from space

India and France are preparing to launch the Thermal Infra-Red Imaging Satellite for High-resolution Natural Resource Assessment (TRISHNA) from Sriharikota in 2027. The joint satellite mission aims to study Earth's water resources as climate change intensifies droughts and disrupts rainfall. TRISHNA will provide a resolution better than 60 metres and revisit areas several times a week.
